my exams are O-V-E-R!

i'm so glad april is over.

there was nvr a crazier mth than tt.

but now i'm kinda worried abt my results.

the questions in my corporate accounting paper yesterday were totally unexpected.

in a sense, they were almost totally different from past yr paper's format.

things which i thought wld nvr come out actually did.

ironically, i didn't feel very worried when i came out of the exam hall yest unlike a wk ago where i seemed to have lost my senses.

now, shld i start worrying?

anyhow there's nothing much i can do at this moment, so i'll just let it be and hope for the best.

now tt the hols are here, i shall start doing some planning for my trip to bkk in june.

hopefully there isn't gonna be anymore political unrest again.

or at least, don't let it start till i go and come back :x

was out with ys for a solid 10 hrs yesterday right after my paper.

from sch, to carwash at some random industrial spot who got not-bad-looking china boys to do the job for you, imm for lunch, far east for mani and pedi, supermarket shopping at amk for her upcoming 21st, and mustafa!

can it get anymore happening?

haha.

i was feeling all excited yesterday too thinking abt my plan to head down to the dairy farm to explore this afternoon.

but i guess i gotta leave milking cows to another day.

apologies for the lack of updates.

april has been a VERY busy and shitty mth.

with the last project submission for this sem on 13th april, there wasn't really much time to prepare for my 2 exam papers (much less, rest) which takes place in the last 2 wks of april.

1 paper down last thurs, business finance.

similar to how he helped us revise for the test, the lecturer went through this particular past yr paper.

lo and behold, the qns which came out in the actual paper were almost the same.

'cept minor changes like "increase" to "decrease", and the figures.

now i really feel like smacking myself for making careless mistakes when i've actually practised it before.

and so, i'm left with one last paper this coming thurs, corporate accounting.

i swear this module is my worse nightmare!

i've been practising qns all morning but sadly one minute i get it, the nxt min i lose it.

i guess accounting is all abt testing yr flexibility in handling qns, though it just requires you to apply the same set of journal entries all over.

argh.

i'm going bonkers and for some reason or another, i'm trembling.

oh lord, pls give me the strength to survive the nxt few days and of course, the 3 hr paper.

it ain't THE END.

the weather has been crazy too- it's either the hot sun, or strong winds and heavy rains- and it's causing me a severe pimple breakout.

not forgetting this mini accident i got into at sch while attempting to do a reverse parking.

it's a long long story and all i can say is, fuck toyota camry(s), borneo motors, and the "good people" who apparently left 2 notes(!) on tt camry's windscreen at least 5 hrs later claiming to be witnesses.

tt whole incident brought abt lots of tears, but i was glad tt my dad was there for me, assuring tt it was gonna be alright.

back to the books.

the biz finance test yest was prolly one of the best i've ever sat for.

it was a set of multiple choice questions which the lecturer went thru for a brief moment last lesson.

bcoz it was too fast, some classmate of mine took snapshots of it, typed it out nicely, and sent it out to some of us.

u bet i was super thankful for tt, coz the paper yest was an exact replica of what was sent to us!

....the amounts, sequence of the ans, names mentioned....

now i'm starting to wonder what's the main purpose of taking this paper.

fyi, it takes up 30% of our total.

i hope tt doesn't imply tt the final exam's are gonna be real tough.

had mj session after sch last night.

apparently my supposed lucky colour "green" doesn't work for me anymore.

i've been feeling stressful of late, and it's affecting my mood somehow.
i start to become more sensitive to the things ard me; whether or not they are actually happening.

i keep telling myself, "i'm just thinking too much".
apparently, it's not really working.

i think it's got ALOT to do with the mth of march.
as of the start of this mth, i've got 2 1 tests & 2 project submissions.
lessons are as usual: mon, tues, thurs nights.

wed and fri nights are for project meetings at sch.

so the only free time i got are just late mornings/early afternoons/late nights after 10.

u bet i can't wait for my presentation on 30th march, for it shall mark the end of all this mad rush.

then, i shall have a self-proclaimed holiday of prolly 5 days before going back to the books to prepare for the upcoming exams.

i've sidetracked.

sometimes, i feel all alone.

and if you thought tt was bad enough, try having the feeling of being treated like a 'spare tyre'.
it's at times like this, i wish i cld be surrounded by more understanding pple.
pple who cld understand why i just cldn't make time for certain things/people, and not simply assume.

pple who wld still show concern or cheer you up (i wldn't use the word 'bother') though at the end of the day i may simply end up being the one who spoils part of their plans due to the above mentioned.

pple who love me for who i am, and pple who know what's on my mind.

i don't expect 100%.

49 percent's good enough.

earlier, i had supper with chee yong at some prata place in my area after sch.

i hate it when he always have to end up being the one to witness my depressing moments.

well, i can't blame it when somehow seeing him just makes me wanna pour out all my unhappiness.

to date, i think he has seen me cry at least 3 times and whine over the same old problems prolly more than 5 times.

boy do i really appreciate his patience.

i won't say tt he offers the best advices, but i'm thankful for having pple like him ard.

2 days back, i was looking forward to work this wkend coz it was at a familiar place with really nice pple.

you bet how i hate changing locations every wkend, and expecting the unexpected.

i love attending to nice customers who don't ask too much.

not tt i'm trying to slack on my job, but it gets really annoying when you obviously know they're just asking "for fun".

my colleagues call them miscellaneous people.

bad luck enough, i came across one who indirectly blamed us for not having stocks for the few phone models he picked.

so what? he expects us to know the exact figures of demand and supply?

it's just too bad tt you liked phones which were damn hot at the point of time it was launched.

lemme see, many mths back?

tt isn't all.

i hate the think-they-know-it-all customers. if you think you know it better than me, then what's the point of asking.
i hate customers who come in and ask, "哪一架电话好?", and end of with "你是nokia的，当然讲nokia好啦!" hello, i work for nokia, of course i'll try my best to choose the best model which suits them most from nokia. why wld i mention other brands when i had an option not to right? sometimes i wish i cld just reply, "我是吃nokia的，当然讲nokia好啦."

oh well, don't all tt play a part in making us ugly singaporeans?

life's been pretty much the same these days.
the festive season is long over and i told myself it's time to get down to work.
but i'm obviously still not over my holiday mood.
tsk. not good.

cny 09 hasn't been very happening, and i'm sure u've heard tt comment more than once to date.
'cept for a rise in gambling sessions this yr, prolly to make up for the drop in ang bao "income".

at The Arena last wed after sch to celebrate celestine's 22nd.

i can't believe i'm gonna be 22 this yr too! the thought's depressing, but i know i'm not alone :p

and this was what i was up to last wkend.yes, i finally went to the much talked-abt fish spa somewhere along pasir ris farmway with ts.
if you'll just squint yr eyes a little, you'll notice the words "keep smiling" right at the top.
being someone who's darn afraid of tickles, i definitely understood why the random sign was up there.
honestly, they cld have just changed it to "keep laughing"!

look at those suckers.
almost regretted paying the price for an hr coz we simply cldn't tahan the ticklish-ness at all.
but after 15 mins, we got numbed and started staring at this lady who just cldn't stop laughing the min she put her feet in.
and i thought, "tt's so me 15 mins ago."

after the ~~torturous~~ hr, we had all intentions to locate the dog farm.
saw a big pet shop along the way, thought we had found the dog farm, alighted, only to realise it was just a pet shop.

we were welcomed by this huge dog (said to be the owner's).

and yet another.

met up with ys, alvin, and their primary sch friend, paul, who had just came back frm paris last mon @ vivo.

he's a cambodian who has been living in paris for the past 10 yrs, travelled to many places, and most importantly, speaks damn good mandarin.

being a 100% chinese who can't speak good mandarin at times, i've really gotta be ashamed of myself.

i can't get to slp now, have read the main headline news on yahoo.com, browsed thru' blogs i'll usually go to, played jewel quest 2 umpteen times till i got sick of it, and even read pples' ghostly encounters on the net (i've absolutely no friggin' idea why i even did so).

frm 16th jan, marcel's 22nd.
xl, mel and i got to zouk early to get our chops before heading to brewerkz for dinner.

i forgot what beer was tt, but i remembered it tasted much better than cheapo beers.
so kindly ignore the dumb expression.

apparently, the guys gave approval for the "gay r/s" between javin and edwin.i rmbr hating to tag photos like this on fb.

bird got high and started slapping all of us.
and before we knew it, everyone started slapping each other on the dance floor.and this was what happened to him at the end of it.headed to river valley for supper thereafter.
i was almost "dead" by then.
and so was bird.the few pretty sober ones.
on tt same wk, we had a picnic at the botanic gardens.
2 days after to be exact.
thank god for the lovely weather :) denise's "scandalous other-half. "

the kid tt just cldn't stop coming over to our spot.
i must say, we can be quite a bad influence. bird brought along his mini mj set.
and u bet how frustrating it was building up the walls, taking yr own tiles.. u get the drift.to be on the nxt issue of men's health?

yes, it's tt same kid.and since he loved us so much, we thought we might as well include him in the grp shot.

we headed to joel's humble abode for steamboat and cards.

the overnight gambling sessions for the past whole wk was good.

though i made small winnings, i didn't really enjoy myself thoroughly.

had a bad throat on 除夕, and didn't really get to snack on cny junk.

had a fever on the 4th and 5th day, and then came periods and flu.

very unfortunate.

thank god for panadol , esp for pple like me who hates going to see a doc, i'm recovering.

just in time to chiong projects, and of course, prepare for the upcoming tests.

i know this greeting may come a tad too late, but it's always better late than nvr.
so here's a (belated) happy new yr to all!

honestly, i wasn't looking forward to 2009 one bit.
coz there was just this thing tt made me feel it's not gonna be a good yr.
but well, so far so good :)
only into my 2nd wk of sch, and i'm alr anticipating stress days ahead.
now i'm starting to wonder whether i was in the right mind last dec when i was soooo looking forward to sch.

anyhow, this was how i spent my last 6 days of 2008.

on christmas day itself, i had lunch at my uncle's place b4 heading to ys' for a potluck dinner.

the chef for the day.

my younger sis did this for us coz i obviously cld not bake nor whip up a fantastic dish.

ys got her brother to take his ps3 out of his room, and u bet most of us got addicted to "rock band".

dec has been such a bad mth coz i've been losing $ at the mj table.

i've been feeling so so emo since last night.
pple can ask me a zillion times, but i ~~just reply "i have no idea"~~ refuse to say anything.

last wkend was definitely one of the best i had even though it involved almost 21 hrs of work for 2 days.
after working for a corporate roadshow in the morning, i rushed home to shower and headed down to sentosa for work at ZOUKOUT!
aside frm asking partygoers to try out our new touchscreen nokia 5800, we had to get them to try out the n-gage games on the latest N series.

and so, we enjoyed free entry, free flow of drinks, and still got paid.
smacked right in the mambo/rnb section, you bet all of us (promoters) went high while "working". saw a couple of familiar faces too.
cel, caroline, ian, marcel, and shaun (who was a rip curl VIP).
the party went on for us after work.
there were fireworks display and there was shaun, trying so hard to capture a shot of it.
he kinda gave up and thought he was better off taking a video of it till i told him: "not as though you're really gonna watch it when u get home".
got myself a nokia-music-man airbrush painting.junessa.
nokia promoters with a trying-to-be-funny dude.

met up with the pri sch mates last thurs for lunch and movie b4 yee on heads to vegas for a mth.millie & emmy.

it was flesh imp's 8th anniversary 2 fridays back at zouk.

it's really unlike me to be up at this hr, blogging.
i know it's alr 1230pm, and everyone out there has alr worked almost half a day and are counting down to lunch time.
but for someone who only slps at 5 - 6am every ~~night~~ day, i guess tt gives me a really good reason to wake up when it's almost 3pm?

but today was an exception.
i was up early deciding if i shld meet ray for lunch, and so happen received 2 msges from my classmates to tell me results are out online.
jumped out of bed and went straight for my laptop, only to realise how slow the start-up has become.
must have been my dad and sis who have been trying to install some new modem thingy using my com last night.
thank god for the wi-fi function on my phone which made suspense-waiting time a whole lot shorter.
well... I PASSED!
or maybe, did a tad better than just a normal pass :)

neway, i've been rotting at home for the past 2 days.
totally dread it when sunday comes to an end.
coz other than work and the occasional outings, there's really nothing much to look forward to at the start of the wk.
aside from the mega-mac session and the impromptu mj session yest (with yy, kenn and gucci), the only other things to look forward to wld prolly be meetups with my pri sch loves nxt wk!

the fever came, subsided, and came back again.
it got me so frustrated tt i finally decided to go visit the doc.
took my med coupled with a short rest, and i was out.
yes, the cough and flu is still there.
but i just cldn't take another day home.

birthday ~~boy~~ raymond gave us a buffet dinner treat at allson hotel yest.
hmm... everything tasted funky, 'cept for the cereal prawns and watercress with pork ribs soup.
after dinner, we headed down to prive @ keppel bay for drinks.

i can't believe it's alr the 2nd wk of my hols!
2008 is definitely whizzing past damn quickly.

the first wk of hols was spent with lots of meetups.
first off, a date with the yr 1 girls at vivo last mon.

dined in at marche, and i can't believe we cld spend the whole night talking abt nothing else but boobs...literally.
if only we cld just not grow up! on our way back, we saw celine's car and decided to hang out at ice3 @ gardens.met the "random clique" for dinner and desserts on tues @ shokudo & gelare.
denise, bird, ian, marcel, teddy, cel, mel, edwin.
joel (who was back from melb) and quek came to join us after.

wed, had dinner with less than half of the XLBs: rach, gucci and qn.
once upon a time, it looked lyk this:
and now, it was reduced to the 4 of us :(
ben was in camp, dee has personal matters to see to, sam had work, and brendy had something to attend to. the damn spicy beef la mian.
fri was work at sentosa golf course for the Barclays Singapore Open.
it wasn't the usual promoting and selling tt we usually do.
instead, we had to get guests to take part in the "fastest finger challenge".
tt is, to use the e71 and type the whole mouthful of txt as seen below. it was definitely not easy.
it took me at least 1 min 43 secs.
but i heard from colleagues tt someone actually completed it in 42 secs!!!
and if you thought that only the adults were up to it, you're so very wrong.
sunday and monday nights were spent playing mj with yy, ernest, and kenneth.
made pretty small losses.
but it's not bad for an amateur player like me k.
gosh, now i'm itching for another game.

met up with yee on and millie yest!
has been almost 9 yrs since i last saw them.
had lunch in town before heading to bugis to fix yee on's iphone.
after yee on left, millie and i decided to catch a movie, madagascar 2.
was both touching and funny.
too bad i didn't catch the 1st instalment of the movie. well well, more meetups k!
the weather hasn't been too good these days, and it's making everyone sick.
i've got a sore throat now, and prolly a slight fever coz i'm literally freezing inside.
think i shld hit the sack soon, at least go hide under the blanket to keep myself warm.

a'right, tt's a pretty outdated comment coz it was over since last sat.
i'm not really sure how i'll do, but i'm crossing my fingers and hope i'll do well.

got home and took a few hrs rest (blame it on NO slp at all the night before my paper) before heading to top 1@ bugis to celebrate wc's *ah-hem* birthday.

no worries, both are straight!

hols have started and i've yet to plan something constructive to do for the nxt 2 mths.
it's back to work, and of course, lots of meetups!
prolly these are the things tt's just gonna make the long wait for my results much more bearable.

8 nov shall be the day when my misery will come to an end....temporarily.
i can't believe it's just my 1st semester.
bummer.

i've been having sleepless nights ever since exams started.
i hate it when i know i'm already tired, but yet the minute i lie down on my bed, i find myself tossing and turning for an hr or 2 before actually falling to slp.
same thing happened last night (or rather, this morning), and i've only got 3 hrs of slp.

i'll prolly try counting sheeps the nxt time, and see if it really works.
thank god my mind didn't go blank in the exam hall.
7 questions, 3 hrs.
i spent AN HOUR on the 1st (worth 24 marks), and just didn't feel lyk attempting the rest of the qns after.
well, it's over.
so i shan't comment further.

the exam period has kickstart, and i'm glad tt my 1st paper was pretty manageable.

but then again, i'm not exactly sure if i even knew what i was writing.

whoever said open-book exams are gonna be a piece of cake?

i'm keeping my fingers crossed and hope i'll do well.

anyhow, my sis allowed me to take the car yest while she was still in bali.

to be honest, i was damn thankful for tt.

think lugging a law txt bk, one companies act bk, and a ring file with my notes, AND squeezing with the morning crowd in trains and buses!

and so, i left the house an hr early for fear of a traffic jam.

reached sch in abt 25 mins, looked for a parking lot for 10 mins (coz i refused to park at the open-space carpark), went up to the exam hall, and spent another 10 mins figuring out where i was supposed to be sitted based on our given loooooonnnngg index nos.

it was such a major turn-off.

can't they make sitting arrangements less complicating?

i ended up having to look for my seat AGAIN in the hall with a lil' help.

pls not let the same situation happen again for my nxt 2 papers!

back from bali early this morning, and am feeling exactly the same way as how i did when i came back from HK half a yr ago.
lost and exhausted.
but i sure did have a whole lot of fun!!
shopping, parasailing, tanning, spa, alcohol, ray & indra's engagement dinner, and a tour ard bali on our last day.
of course, not forgetting the good food we had for all 4 days!
and so, i finally got to weigh myself the min i got up...an additional 2kg!!!!!
if u thought tt was bad enough, u're so wrong.
i've got 2 blisters, a pimple breakout, 3 mozzie bites, a cut on my lip, and a very fatigue-me.

anyhow, it's 8 more days to my 1st paper.
time to snap back to reality and get my arse moving.

i've started on my revision for law, and gosh, i think i'm gonna die trying to rmbr all 17 chapters of info!

on the contrary, the fact tt it's gonna be an open-book paper is making me more stressed up.

i'm having trouble picking out the same pts written in my notes on the books (coz it's all over the pages), and the overlapping of chaps is making it worse.

argh!

met up with est at tp for our mugging session yest.

as much as i hate to say this, it was pretty unproductive coz there was a camp going on, and everyone were just screaming cheers at the top of their lungs.

i guess i'm better off staying home to study.

anyhow, i'll be away in bali for ray & indra's engagement dinner from the 16th - 20th.

shall at the same time, treat it as a short getaway from the books.

this wk's passing by really quickly.
(exactly a wk ago) there we were, up on kent ridge park & mount faber, having our very own mini car photoshoot to "welcome" a new member to the family: ah leow's new lancer.
well, we did attempt a few crazy stunts too :p
now one wk later.....
as a pre-bdae celebration for my younger sis, she suggested having dinner at the new restaurant near my place (formerly located at joo chiat).
i forgot the exact name of it, but judging from the crowd, i guess it must have been really famous before they made the shift.love the food, esp their oatmeal prawns.spring onion venison.our super big plate of hong kong noodles.if you thought tt was all, think again.

the crabs were finger lickin' good!
who cares 'bout the high cholesterol and whatnot.
the good food, excellent customer service, no gst & service charge will surely draw me back to tt place someday.

with presentation over last thurs, it officially marks the start of my study break.

unlike poly days, there's no longer supp papers to fall back on.
it's either you do well, or be prepared to retake the module all over.
but at this pt in time, i'm still feeling so nua to get started.
i wake up everyday telling myself "there's still 3 more wks".

just a lil update of events which took place over the wkend.
aside from having to attend a replacement law lesson on sat, we i finally went blading after say, 2 mths?!?

i'm glad tt i did not actually forgot how to skate though i'm still having a lil' problem doing it the right way. :)

it has been a wk ever since cy POP-ed, and charles & i had the "privilege" to spend the last hrs of freedom with him b4 he booked in the nxt day. having not dropped by the heeren for mths too (or rather, ever since vilage closed its doors), we decided to walk over to look-see.
there wasn't much a a diff, 'cept for the top floor which is now filled with restaurants.
apparently, this was what got us hanging ard longer there.

the time spent painting the mini cooper at his front yard, and going for RC meets.
i wish i did not have such random thoughts, but i just cldn't help it.
the really engrossed few. this sure looks ghastly!

the leows.tt's the bdae boy, daryl. you've got to admit tt kids these days are just so lucky.
they even get to play dress-ups!lil' xavier.being the really impromptu one we've always been, we decided to do some car washing at the mscp.
ya, i was there to join in the fun (and obviously in the wrong attire). well, it was a fun yet tiring experience.
but definitely something tt i'll only do once in a long, long while.

it was supposed to be a good day today.

i've got my tutorials prepared before today's lesson, did a lil' household chores (though i ended up being more of a hindrance, i'm glad mum appreciated), and had time for my early dinner at home b4 leaving for sch.

ok, tt's not what this whole entry is gonna be abt.

i was still in a pretty good mood after class, with pms symptoms totally out of the way.

2 friends came along at the same time, and wished i cld get them out of their emo-ness.

but it ended up tt i needed the consoling more than they did.

i really hated all tt happened.

yes, it really sucks to have to take the initiative all the time.

you mentioned before how much you didn't lyk to be taken for granted.

but have u actually paused for a moment and thought of how others ard u actually felt?

not breathing a word abt it, doesn't mean tt i'm not bothered by it at all.

i just refused to blow matters out of proportion coz it's just so not worth it.

but it was just too much bear earlier, tt now i'm actually voicing out how unhappy i am.

if you think it's not gonna bother you, so be it.

was out with the love/hate shopping kaki yest on an impromptu note.
she does make a good shopping buddy, yet at the same time, i hate it when she nvr fails to cause damage to my wallet (ALL THE TIME!).
with a parking fee capped at $3.50 after 5pm @ wisma, we figured tt we'll just hang ard wisma and taka.
well, it didn't take long for us to get the spending spree started!

halfway thru', we stopped by the foodcourt at taka and settled for an "old school" dinner instead of having the usual fare of fast-food and whatnot.
thereafter, we continued from where we left off, and this was all the damage done.
with all the shops already closed, we ended the day with a green tea frap & chamomile tea @ starbucks.having not shopped for ages, u bet i went home, a happy girl!

it's gonna be stay-home day today.
with today's law lesson postponed, i shall be good and work on my assignments for tmr's lesson.

the fishes had a mini gathering at the grand mecure hotel yest.
i believe tt dining in at the chi restaurant there, and it being the mid-autumn festival was all just a coincidence.

bird, camera-shy shaun, jason.it was really rare to see shaun smile for the camera.
all it took, was for the waitress (who took the shot for us) to say "ceese".
there's sch later on in the evening, and i'm kinda feeling lazy to get my ass there.
i'm feeling so pms-y and i just feel lyk staying home.
but then again, i'll feel guilty for skipping lessons coz it's gonna be so hard to catch up.
speaking of which, my exam timetable is out.
the 1st paper is on the 28th of oct, and tt so happens to be a public holiday!
ok, not tt i actually do celebrate deepavali.
but it's just plain crappy to have to go back to sch on tt day.

had dinner at the botak jones near my place before sch earlier.

when i was shown the menu, the 1st thing tt came to my mind was: "what a budget-looking menu".

to be honest, the stapled stack of papers pretty much looked lyk my test paper back in sec sch.

i wondered, why didn't they just bothered to laminate it so it can be re-used all over?

was flipping thru the paper menu while waiting for my food, and loved the lil' entertainment they provided.

there were so many random catchy jokes in it, not forgetting the really interesting captions they use to describe what they're actually selling.

so naturally, i brought a copy home.

prolly tt's the reason why they didn't bother to laminate it.

shall just lift a section of it (which i think i'm apparently guilty of) :x

u bet i enjoyed my last sat so, so much!
law paper was pretty manageable, though there was this impromptu decision made by the sch to ans all essay qns, instead of the initial "3 choose 2".
tt's prolly 1 of the downsides of having to study under a foreign uni locally: the lack of communication with the downunder.
on the contrary, i'm still hoping i'll pass tt paper coz i didn't really have time to finish up the last bit.

anyhow, i went for a birthday dinner at ma maison @ bugis after.
cozy ambience, good food, reasonable pricings.
definitely a place i'll wanna visit again!

sch hasn't been good, and it's only the beginning!

i guess i'm not tt accustomed to uni life yet.

anyhow, i caught yet another movie last fri: "the love guru".
gosh, i swear it was damn boring and un-funny.
shld have just watched "journey to the center of the earth"(though it wasn't exactly of my interest), instead of wasting 10 bucks on the former.

sat, which was also national day, was spent at home.
there were plans to head down to sentosa, but the organiser himself cancelled it.

one word to describe work last sat, SLACK!
it was the same corporate event (which i did before) @ suntec.
on xav's advice, i brought along a book to work.
but come the end of the day, i was only done reading 6/521.
not tt i was a slow reader, but because there were simply too many distractions ard.
place my purpose of being there aside.
last sat happened to be day of the ndp preview.
so before the whole parade started, there was the "unwrapping of the state flags" (apologies for not knowing the exact term of tt short ceremony) at the convention hall.
out of curiosity, i ran out and took a peek.
witnessed the different contingents falling in, but sadly, i missed the main part of tt ceremony coz the supervisor kinda called me back in.
ironically, he himself stood there and continued to watch.

so out of boredom, i started to try out almost every OSIM pdts.
if you're wondering where they all came from, (yes) they happened to be having a "roadshow" at the corner of the same room.

from an outsider's pt of view, they might have thought tt we were actually promoters for OSIM.

anyhow, i caught "the mummy".

compared to the previous 2, i wld have to admit tt it's not tt exciting.

1s18. jia guang, chuanming, weichuan, chunji, seamus.i bet he made more than 1 wish!welcome to the club bro.did a roadshow for starhub @ PS over the wkends.
and of course i got to know another bunch of lovely pple (promoters) who like me, wldn't stop whining abt how humid the weather was, how time passed so slowly etc.
at the end of the event, we decided to head down to selegie for tau huay.
accompanied with lots of laughter and wacky stories, it sure marked a good closure for the wk.

once again, it was back to TP on tues to relive the good old times.
yes, i really do miss the last 3 yrs spent there.
all the familiar faces you get to see ard without fail, the cheap & good food, and the list goes on.
i swear i'll never get such a feeling even after the end of my 2 yrs at SIM.
prove me wrong.
went down to vivo after.
and for once, B2 failed to make me spend a single moolah though i saw a couple of things which kinda got me tempted.

so while b2 and ah leow headed home, ts and i decided to drive down to ecp to chill-out.

there i was, frantically applying lots of moisturizer on myself to prevent "flaking".
never will i wanna go thru the same peeling process!

sch's been so far so good.
with the local lecturers taking over from this wk, it surely made time spent in lessons much more bearable.
no more rushy rushy business.
am i glad tt i wasn't persistent 4 mths ago to pursue a degree down-under.

celebrated tim's 23rd birthday at the screening room.
headed straight down after sch, and i dare say i was the geekiest person present.
while everyone were holding on to glasses of wine and cocktail, i entered the rooftop bar with my binded-Financial Accounting (FA) notes in my hand.
totally anti-climax!

it was definitely one helluva lesson, and it kinda made me lose interest (picked up just 2 days b4) in tt module almost immediately at the end of the day.

so after we were done scribbling on the templates, we basically shut off when she decided to go thru the theory in the remaining 10 mins.
and mind u, there were abt 8 pages of it.

met the dudes after dinner to watch 赤壁 @ the cathay.
though i'm not really a fan of such war movies, but i've got to admit tt the fighting scenes were good.
not forgetting the lil' humour injected as well.
i know it may sound a little contradicting, but i'm kinda looking forward to the 2nd part of the movie.

being ones who hate to get home early on a sat, we decided to go down to boat quay for some booze and karaoke.
and for the sake of finishing up the remaining less-than-half bottle of chivas we left behind the other time in the shortest time possible, we played rounds of 5-10.
being assigned drivers for the night, 104 and i had the privilege to stay away from the alcohol!
phew.
i think i need more driving experience and also, to get myself more familiarised with the s'pore roads.
as i came out from the filter lane somewhere in hougang, i actually ended up on the opp. side of the road!
thank goodness it was 4am, and i became aware of my surroundings in a nick of time.

finally, no more ass-landing incidences as i took the alt. route to avoid the steep slopes.

had dinner at bishan park and then to orchid country club for pool.
so while the guys played, 104 and i decided to find our own source of entertainment: photo hunt.

jiemin's finally back frm the land of the kiwis!
but sadly, she's only gonna be hanging ard here for another 4 days before going back to complete her last sem.
neway, eileen and i managed to catch hold of her for a simple dinner date yest.
daemon (jm's bro) and amanda (daemon's gf) came along too.
after deciding for abt 15 mins as to where to dine-in, we finally settled for brewerkz @ clarke quay.

eileen, BEHAVE!jiemin.
jm, daemon, amanda.due to their large serving portions, we decided to share whatever we ordered.
fried potato skins, pepperoni calzone, brewerkz beef burger, calamari, beef pot pie.

for desserts, we decided to go for turkish ice cream located right across the river.
i've always wanted to try it, but simply hated the idea of being "made fun of" by the turkish man.
think abt it.
it really IS moronic trying to "catch" your ice cream under many watchful eyes!
but since there were so many of us there, i thought it wld be the best time to get myself one of those treats.

somehow i had this i've-not-gone-for-any-driving-lessons-before feeling as i sat at the driver's seat.
well, at least i got myself and my passenger to our destination safe and sound! haha.

and finally a wkend w/o work, we found ourselves back at ECP for our sat must-have activity, blading!
had lessons in the afternoon before heading down.
sad to say, no improvements at all.
tt's what you get having not practised for close to a mth!
and i guess i need not go on further abt what happened.

eg: not changing back to the 1st gear when the car came to a stop, not honking at this dumbass civic which cut into my lane just to initiate a left turn (tt wld have effing caused me 10 pts!).

but then again, i believe my driving wasn't all tt bad actually.

i thought i cld finally catch "sex and the city" last night after so many commented how good it was.
but when we got to cine, tix were sold out, and we settled for "you don't mess with the zohan" at the cathay instead.

it was really unexpected.

i'm sure by now, everyone's aware of what happened.

i nvr really knew clifton and vice versa.

on his side, i was known as "mel's friend" coz he cld nvr remember my name.

at times when i bumped into him, i'll go "clifton, what's my name?", and he'll pause for a moment to think.

and so all along i thought he still cld not get it, till earlier when gucci actually told me tt clif calls her "cherilyn's friend, gucci".

you've touched many hearts, and we'll all miss you clifton.

and so, i'm done with my 'understudy' (in other words, training) at nokia.

4 days at one of their concept stores, and 2 days at a starhub event.

did i mention tt i almost quit on the 1st day?

it was a sunday, and the constant come-and-go crowd was expected.

the frustrating part came when i had to constantly ask my colleagues things which customers asked, coz i simply knew nothing abt the phones.

lyk the built-in memory, cam megapixels, colours, functions etc.

i was often looking forward to my 4th and last day at the concept store coz i didn't lyk the idea of being watched and eavesdropped by my supervisor who was nearby, making sure i was saying the right thing.

but as tt day came, i actually had this feeling of wanting to cry.

as i got the hang of it, i realised it wasn't tt hard at all.

i kinda miss my colleagues there, and wish i cld work there permanently.

unfortunately being a roadshow promoter, i had to be on the move.

as mentioned, i was at the starhub event @ suntec on fri and sun, and it was super fun!

it was actually more talk then work if u ask me.

you don't just get to talk to your 'own promoters', but the others from samsung, sony ericsson etc.

they even had plans to chill-out at boat quay on the last day of work, but i was too tired to go.

blame it on the EURO CUP.

i had only 3 hrs of slp the night before as i was at ys' house with the dudes, mj-ing while watching the match at the same time!

neway, last sat was some day i wld call HECTIC SAT!

there was supposed to be tanning, but was cancelled due to bad weather.

headed down to town for lunch with the sec sch peeps: zeyu, meijuan, mel, cheryl, cel.

it's funny how we don't used to meet up lyk this at all while at sch, and only do so 3 yrs later.

after town, i dropped by jason's for a mini farewell for wenling (who's going to europe, or rather, gone to europe), and also a game of poker and in-between. hanged ard for abt 2 hrs, and i was off to ys' for the alr mentioned reason why i cldn't join the other promoters at boat quay.

this wk's gonna be yet another really bz wk.
i had only today to rest.
tues: down to SIM to hand in my sch fees b4 meeting the XLB clique for shopping and dinner.
wed: cel's SIA graduation.
thurs: driving lesson.
fri: prolly tuition and sch orientation.
sat & sun: work.

due to some private event, we were given the basement bar when initially we had reserved the rooftop bar.
and so as 'compensation', the 1st round of drinks were on the house!
jumping at tt offer, we ordered drinks tt were obviously pretty expensive.
some of guys had the flaming waterfall.... while the ladies had the flaming lamboghini.

somehow, i cld roughly guess how the flaming lambo got its name.
shortly after, i got a lil' dizzy and refused to take any pics.and tt's mel testing to see if i cld still do simple mental calculations.zhengan.mojito.sze khing.the guys: darren, justin, sze khing, tim, zhengan, lemuel.
and the girls: mel, mimi, myself, yixian.
lemuel.coincidentally there was another birthday celebration going on at the basement bar, and this was what we got for helping them sing a birthday song.tim, darren, kenneth, mimi, justin. darren's birthday cake.
tt's 23 cupcakes (representing his age) by mel. yup, this was the other birthday girl whom i mentioned abt earlier.
the continuous toasting and more on-the-house drinks for the 2 birthday peeps... resulted in this!!
so while they were puking and whatnot, some of us decided to go explore the rooftop bar with the private event almost over.and boy won't we glad we weren't given a table up there.
it was freaking humid, and we cldn't even stand sitting down there for 10 mins.

22nd may 08, the day which i've been looking forward to ever since day 1 of sch 3 yrs back!
though excited, there's somehow a tinge of sadness at the thought of having to leave campus for good :(
in order to make full good use of the very last moment, i met up with gucci and sam for lunch at our very own Business sch.

i finally bought my inline skates with ys!
tt means... no more carrying my socks all the way to the rental shop and renting skates for $10/2 hrs.
and the best part?
more blading sessions to come, whether night or day for as long as we want!

ys' initial plan was to pick me up from driving lessons tt day and we'll head down to skateline along paya lebar rd.
as usual, i cld not wake up on time for lessons and had to ask my instructor to come pick me up from my place.
thank god he didn't mind.
i ended up ching-chionging in 25 mins to shower, get dressed, and scram out of my house.
with all the mad rush going on, i actually kinda lost all mood to get those skates tt day.
but i was too late in informing ys and i guess u guys can anticipate the outcome.
anyway, no regrets :)

headed down to vivocity after, and had lunch at marche.
i kinda miss the old marche-turned-vilage at the heeren.
it seemed much more authentic at the latter if you ask me.
back to the former, restaurant concept's the same, but the food somewhat seems diff.
menu etc.
even the supposedly mushroom sauce you see below, actually looks and tasted lyk non-spicy laksa gravy.

i'm such a poop.
supposed to have driving at 11am today, but i got up from my slumber at 1120am!
best of all, it was an sms from my instructor tt said "11am at ubi" which woke me up.
how helpful was tt?
lesson was changed to 1pm in the end, but i think tt wasn't really i needed.
halfway thru the lesson, i almost dozed off!
i know tt makes me a very irresponsible driver, but i promise it'll never happen when i become the proud owner of a class 3 license.

it's supposed to be a rest day for everyone, but it seemed to be the day i worked the hardest.
attempting the sport again after many many yrs made the 2 hrs on wheels torturous.
i just cldn't balance myself, and i think ts got tired being "teacher".

i think age is catching up on me, for i can no longer stand nights w/o slp.
mj session again the nxt day at shuang's place.
i think it's become an addiction.

btw, i'm feeling all lost again now tt i just got rejected by UOL.
left with no choice, i applied for RMIT while waiting to see if my appeal's gonna be successful.
as a backup, i guess i'll most prolly apply for the aussie unis as well.

life's been pretty much the same.

for wks, people has been asking me what am i currently doing.

and the response never changes, "well, just bumming ard."

somehow, something tells me tt nxt wk's gonna be much more happening.

there's gonna be a job interview nxt tues, and prolly a reply from UOL on wed (and so they claimed).

to be honest, i'm looking forward much more to getting tt job now than studying.

but snap back to reality.

a diploma's not gonna get me anywhere in this paper-conscious society.

esp when it comes to landing a bank job which i so badly want.

tt aside, i finally had upclose (minus personal) views of our infamous geylang yest in the midst of locating the rocher beancurd store.

i know i'm gonna sound lyk a mountain turtle saying this, but i nvr knew tt the sort of gambling we see in old school tv shows still exist.

yes, it's the one whereby 'bankers' draw circles on big boards and pple place bets on it.

mind you, there were more than 4 of such stalls in the same lane!

also, i finally got to hear and see how the ah-tiongs actually 'lure' customers.

some literally grabbed you by the arm, while there are also the less persistent ones.

of course, there were the rare sights of the LTA confiscasting tables & chairs from a coffeeshop which violated rules by putting them along the walkways.

come to think abt it, geylang is well-known for being a food paradise.

but the wrong group of pple just had to step in and destroy its image.

got back from tanning session with cel & ivy 2 hrs back.

was supposed to meet them at 1030am by the pool, but laziness got the better of me and i reached there 4 hrs later.

as all the benches were 'fully-booked' by guys who love being sun-kissed, we ended up dipping in the pool and trying to face the sun as much as we can.

i've been so naive.

at tt moment, i wish i had not made tt move and put myself in a major embarrassment.

but a lesson screamed out loud and clear to me, and i guess it's difficult to ignore!

right now, i'm desperately trying to get tt event out of my mind and hope it'll be kept under wraps.

*crossing my fingers & praying real hard*

i seemed to have lost control of my own life, totally.

many a times i find myself running away from reality, resulting in actions which i may end up laughing at 10 yrs down the road.

and so, i've decided to pick up the pieces and look forward to what life has in store for me.

easier said than done, but i'll try.

called SIM earlier on eileen's advice and they said i'll get to know if my application was successful by the end of this mth.

meanwhile, i'm having other plans and i hope my parents will support whatever decisions i may have.

back from hk yest, and an hr ago from a birthday party.

totally exhausted right now.

consecutive 5 days of roaming the streets in hk definitely wears one's energy out.

as i touched down at T3, i suddenly felt "lost".

it felt weird to be back home.

things which i told myself tt i must do after the trip seemed to have 'escaped'.

all in all, it's an unexplainable feeling.

i seemed so uncomfortable in my own skin.

i think i need slp.

i'll be leaving for hk in another 11 hrs and i've not even started packing.

or rather, the luggage is still sitting in the storeroom!

i've no idea how to start packing, and i feel like just bringing the basic necessities and get everything else there.

but i'm pretty excited abt this trip.

thinking abt all the shopping alone makes me high.

but also, it gives me a reason to divert my attention from whatever is on my mind now.

a scene depicting how innocent kids can get.
hong xun claims kervina's his girlfriend.
and i think he's only a quarter of my age or prolly younger then tt?
unfortunately we missed taking a shot when kervina suddenly hugged her "boyfriend".
awww.grace with sam's other nephew, hong zhe. i felt so motherly.sam, gucci.tuesday was spent @ clarke quay.
had lunch at central with ys, gucci, and rosy.
i swear it was darn boring.
not the company, but "central".
but because rosy had to work at some pub there later in the evening, we were left with no choice.

and so, we decided to dine in at manhattan fish market.
while waiting for rosy to come, we decided to entertain ourselves with what we love to do best.

and when she finally came..
for $9.90++, i think this meal of fish & chips is super worth it.
and if u dine in b/w 12pm - 3pm, you get a bowl of soup and a super large drink at the same price!with no ideal place to chill, we decided to sit by the singapore river for ciggs, more talk.....
...and staring into space.apparently, the s'pore river is also a good place to sort out some thoughts, unliterally.
accompanied with the cool winds and calm surroundings, we watch the boats go by.
look ma, cockroach feelers!

just when we all intended to sit by the same spot till rosy started work, it started to rain.
we moved in and sat on the super uncomfortable seats right outside central.
it took us a while to find a comfortable position.
and when we finally did, this so-called surveyor in his late 10's popped up from behind and gave me quite of a shock.
thinking it was just gonna be a short one, we thought we'll just do him a favour.
it was a survey of job opportunities in s'pore.

not tt i'm discriminating, but i really dislike talking to china man.
he asked if we cld speak mandarin, and we said YES.
but he carried on speaking to us in broken and unclear english though occasionally slotting in a bit of mandarin.
like every other surveyor, he broke the ice by asking us basic questions like "are your students? waiting to go uni? how old are you guys" etc before going into the "real thing".
halfway through, we realised tt he was suddenly asking questions tt were of no relevance.

(conversation translated)

china man: " have you been to china?"
me: "ya, when i was 8." (hoping tt he'll not go on coz it's been 12 yrs back)
china ma: "oh, so which part of china did u visit?"
me: "er, beijing."
china man: "i see. so do you find beijing or s'pore bigger."
at tt pt, i felt like telling him "if you can find a spot in s'pore which can fit the whole of great wall of china, then i'll tell you which is bigger.
moronic.

china man: "so where do your usually go shopping?"
china man: "do your think s'pore is safe?"

wtf.
what has tt got to do with job opportunities in s'pore?
so much for a short survey.
20 mins later, he asked for our names and phone numbers.
our patience ran thin, and effortlessly, we gave him false info.

china man: "ok. i'll give you all missed calls then you guys can have my number."
(pissed) ys: "why wld we need your number?"
china man: "so we can be friends."
ys: "tt's not necessary coz we have no interest in making friends with you. in any case, the numbers are all false."

we tried to walk away, but he just kept going on and on.
he even attempted to peek into rosy's phone to see what she was looking at.
all slightly traumatised, rosy headed str. to work, gucci went back to sch for camp, and ys & i headed down to gelare at suntec to pamper ourselves with 1/2-priced waffles.

for the last time i'm saying: I NEED TO GET A JOB RIGHT NOW.
i hate days when i've got no driving or outings planned.
coz these are the days when i get very emotional.
with nothing to look forward to for tt day, i force myself out of bed (lying down in bed too long makes me "hallucinate" a lot), have my breakfast, and find something to occupy my time.
to summarize, stay-home days disgust me.

april 1 08: april fool's
this is gonna be one of those days i'm not gonna forget.
mistaking it for the 31st of march, i woke up asking myself why can't the driving instructor have lessons today.
i woke up, washed up, and had my breakfast while channel surfing at the same time.
just when i got bored doing so, the instructor called.
i thought he was gonna confirm with me if i was gonna have lessons the nxt day coz coincidentally, he has a student with the exact same chi name as me.
but instead, he asked where was i.
i boldly answered "at home".
he asked if i knew i was scheduled to have lessons, and i still said "uncle, 不要吓我！"
i hurried to check my card, and i knew immediately i'm screwed.
thank god the instructor offered to pick me up from my place or i'm gonna end up even later if i had to travel down to ubi.

it started to pour right after my lesson.
with all intentions to avoid the downpour, i decided to take bus 51 to hougang where i'll take another bus which will take me right to my house.
and so i boarded the bus when it came.
as the bus travelled further away from the hougang route, i started to wonder if i had taken the right bus.
and amazingly when i had to alight at amk interchange, i realised i had boarded bus 25!

april 3
after driving, i headed down to chinatown and started to walk into almost every travel agency to "conduct a new search for my hk holiday".
prices have increased by at least 200 bucks from last mth coz of all the trade fairs going on in hk.
but after discussions with mum and dad earlier, i guess i'm starting to see a glimmer of hope.
if all goes well, i'll be in hk in 2 wks!
yes, i need tt much-deserved break.
ok, back.
just when i was abt planning where i shld go nxt, teddy called.
coincidentally, he was going down chinatown to meet siwei for k-session.
so i thought, why not?
so there i was, singing k and munching on the tidbits after not doing so for at least half a yr back.
with still a bit of spare time, siwei brought us to "skin" at the red dot museum to chill.
nice place.
and i came to realise something: guys actually do have their bitching moments.
met up with ian and the rest of the clique for supper at LPS as he was transiting to melb for a day.
and decided tt after a long day, i shall call it a night.

april 4
with just 7 hrs of slp, i was off to sam's place for an early celebration for gucci's bdae.
there was mj, karaoke (again), and baby-sitting of sam's 2 nephews and a family friend's daughter on behalf of her mum while she played a lil' mj and prepared dinner for all of us.
as much as i love kids, i realised baby-sitting is a super tiring job.
esp when the kid is an attention-seeker.
all of us were taking turns to carry the girl coz the min she's not being carried, she'll just start crying.
and with sam's nephews monkeying ard, you bet how lively her house was tt day.

finally got my hair cut and i feel so light-headed now.
here's before....

..and after.was @ timbre to celebrate sperm's belated 21st on sat.
unfortunately, not many pictures taken with my cam.
and our dear mel who's holding most of the pics, is currently on a 28 hrs flight to US, and will only be back 3 wks later.
so i guess, it's gonna be a long wait for those pictures.

coming back, timbre @ fort canning is definitely a great place to chill.
good food, great live band.
and most importantly, great company!

renee, teddy, siwei.shumin, renee.well, we just wanna try reminiscing the days when we were much younger.
me, mel, denise. javin, sperm, marcel.the night ended with supper at 85 with teddy and mel, while most of the guys went somewhere else to catch their soccer game.

after church, chee yong and i decided to give charles a belated birthday treat at chicago's steakhouse. chee yong.charles.didn't give that place much thought initially coz ys told me the food there wasn't tt good at all.
but keeping our options open, we decided to give it a try.

cheese-baked escargots.coming up, charles' and cy's flaming steak.see what i meant?

pinched a bit of tt flaming steak, and i tell u, it's damn good.
tt medium-rare piece of steak literally melts in your mouth!
i had the sirloin steak set meal, but if u ask me, it's not as good as the former.
but still, i left the place a satisfied customer.

after lunch, we did a bit of shopping and caught "horton" in the evening.
i believe it's a pretty good movie.
you must be wondering why the uncertain comment.
well, it's simply because i spent at least half an hr in the toilet feeling sick.
must have been the humid weather and heavy lunch.
and so, i only caught the beginning and the end of the movie.
8 bucks "well-spent".

after mths of solely enjoying the convenience of online retail therapy, i've decided to get down town and immense myself in some reality shopping.
before all tt, i had driving, and it was the most disappointing one of all 8 lessons.
i stalled the car 5 times!
the weather was freaking hot yest, and i was late for lessons and had to cab down to the driving centre (once again).
in addition to sleepless nights, i guess i lost all concentration.
it felt as though i was taking the wheel for the 1st time.
but i'm not losing hope coz i wanna get tt license at my 1st and last attempt.
it's gonna save me a lot more not having to pay an additional $200 just to get another PDL and tester's fees.
so back to where i was, i bus-ed down to town.
while waiting for gucci and sam, i wandered abt town aimlessly.
from far east, to wisma, then taka.
i stepped into lots of fitting rooms, but came out of the boutiques empty-handed.
they either did not have the right size, or there was really nothing tt appeals to me.
and so i gave up.
decided to shift my attention to shoes and bags instead.
but afraid tt the purchase wld be made on impulse, i decided to reserve the items and wait for gucci to come.
and so the satisfaction i got at the end of the day?
a bag frm aldo, shoes from far east, and dinner @ thomson's prata house with additional company, sab & grace.

the super-engrossed with current affairs, sab.
